What are the most popular Universities in Namibia? uniRank tries to answer this question by publishing the 2020 Namibian University Ranking of 3 Namibian higher-education institutions meeting the following uniRank selection criteria:
being chartered, licensed or accredited by the appropriate Namibian higher education-related organization
offering at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees)
delivering courses predominantly in a traditional, face-to-face, non-distance education format
Our aim is to provide a non-academic League Table of the top Namibian Universities based on valid, unbiased and non-influenceable web metrics provided by independent web intelligence sources rather than data submitted by the Universities themselves.
Climate
As the 34-th largest country in the world, the country has a range of climates throughout it. This includes the Namib Desert, Kalahari Desert, and the Coastal Desert, all of which can be very difficult to navigate. In areas where schools are, though, there is a more metropolitan experience. The winter months, which run from June through August are often very dry. Rainy seasons occur throughout the summer months, though it is also possible to see rain during September through November. Humidity is low, but temperatures can become very high, depending on the location. Winds blow throughout hte country.
Cost of Living
Though many people would expect that living in Namibia is a very affordable opportunity, this is not the case. About 50 percent of all needs are imported here, which means that the cost of living can be very high. Fuel is limitedly available, too, which makes transportation costs high.
Society
Many people living here do so with a focus on agriculture, mining, or tourism. The desert lifestyle is not an easy one for anyone who lives here. However, the culture and diversity of those that do call this location home is what makes this an ideal place to visit, and potentially for higher education studies. However, keep in mind that about 50 percent of the population here live below the international poverty line, strife and war is common, and ethnic culture clashes happen often as well.
Studying in Namibia will provide students with a unique educational experience and one that is not likely to be found anywhere else in the world. Though challenging and with few options, those students who plan to get their education here will find this location an eye opener. It can also be one of the best life experiences that a student can have.
